Complete the job application by clicking here. If you aren't POST certified, you must provide successful POST Entrance Exam results prior to filling out the application.

Step 1 of 14
Complete and submit the Conyers Police Department Applicant Processing Booklet. This is a detailed background packet for law enforcement use only.

Step 2 of 14
Complete and submit a Criminal and Driver History Waiver.

Step 3 of 14
Complete a Physical Fitness Assesment. This will include completing all that is listed: ¼ mile run, designated number of push ups in one minute, designated number of sit ups in one minute, and low-crawl and balance beam obstacles.

Step 4 of 14
Complete the National Criminal Justice Officer Selection Inventory Exam. This will be a computer exam.

Step 5 of 14
Have an interview with the Applicant Review Board. This is a 3 person panel with members of the CPD.

Step 6 of 14
Attend the Applicant Ride-Along and Observation. An opportunity to ride along with our officers to learn about our daily responsibilities.

Step 7 of 14
Take the Truth Verfication Exam. This is a polygraph or Computer Voice Stress Analysis exam.

Step 8 of 14
We will conduct a Background investigation and Verification of information on the applicant.

Step 9 of 14
Have an interview with the Chief of Police.

We will provide a Conditional Job Offer.

Complete a Psychological Examination.

Step 12 of 14
Complete the Medical Examination and Drug Screen.

We will provide an Approved Job Offer. The process from start to finish can be expected to take 45 days.

No cost life insurance policy! A policy valued at 1X you annual salary is paid for you! Additional polcies are available.

Love the gym? All you have to do is go atleast 8 days per month, and the Department will contribute to the membership!

Paid Leave

Leave is accrued at 8 hours vacation and sick per month. Everyone is eligible after 6 months of employment.

Retirement Pension

A retirement pension is paid 100% for you! The plan is through the Georgia Municipal Association, and you can retire at 55 years old.

2% match plan

The Department will match 33 cents on the dollar up to 2% of the employee’s salary. In order to get the maximum benefit, you just contribute 6%!

Take Home Vehicle

Every officer is issued a take home vehicle. Fuel is provided through our on-site station, and all vehicles are maintained by on-site mechanics.
